Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW, is a professor, researcher, author, speaker and leadership development expert. She is the author of five #1 New York Times best selling books and recorded countless lectures and interviews. Her TED Talk, The Power of Vulnerability is among the top five most viewed TED talks in the world with over 45 million views.

Diane Hakes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in McCall and Boise and utilizes the therapeutic methodology based on Brené Brown’s research. She has provided counseling to individuals, couples, and families for over 29 years. Diane is a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator, with advanced training based on the research and teaching of Brené Brown, Ph.D, LMSW. Diane specializes in helping adolescents, adults, and couples repair relationships, build worthiness, heal trauma and promote emotional wellbeing by creating wholehearted living. She has extensive experience working with grief, loss and chronic illness. Diane facilitates community workshops and leadership development trainings also based on Dr. Brown’s work.

Jennifer Caple, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mental health therapist, will co-facilitate The Gifts of Imperfection series. Jennifer offers life coaching and counseling with her brand Elevate 208. Jennifer’s 17 year career has included working in a variety of settings. In the school setting she has helped educate children on ways to identify and better manage emotions and relationships. She has also worked closely with families in the hospice setting by helping patients make end of life decisions and live the best quality life with the time they have left. In the hospital setting she has worked in the emergency room to help patients who are in crisis, and on the inpatient floor helping patients get back home with the support and resources they need to succeed. Additionally, she is on the board and continues to work closely with the local domestic violence program and is currently the Director of the local Community Crisis Response Team. Jennifer is certified in compassion fatigue, crucial conversations, critical incident stress management and suicide prevention.

Ashley Brown, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, will co-facilitate the Braving the Wilderness series. Ashley is a McCall native who specializes in rural social work. Prior to joining the team at St. Luke’s, Ashley worked in Child Welfare and Children’s Mental Health. Ashley is currently seeing clients as a mental health therapist at St. Luke’s McCall’s Long Valley Clinic. Ashley takes a warm and straightforward approach with her clients. In addition to working with clients who experience a variety of mental health concerns, Ashley enjoys helping her clients seek a greater understanding of themselves, build self-worth, and find meaning. Ashley provides an empathetic, open space for her clients to grow.
