Author Visit – John Rember
Tuesday, January 20th 6:00pm – McCall Public Library Community Room
Idaho author John Rember will read from his new books, Journal of the Plague Years: End Notes, Ghost Dance, and Aftermath. It’s a three-volume series of Rember’s journal entries written during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

It’s been six years since Covid-19 emerged and transformed our lives irrevocably. It feels like a lifetime. We’ve seen massive changes nationally and globally, in our politics, our healthcare, and in what’s considered truth. Rember’s essays put us face-to-face with the end of a familiar world, but they also demonstrate that everyday life contains a durable joy.

Marked by humor, honesty, and love, Rember’s essays witness a time near the end of this country’s history, and offer a primary source for historians of the future, should there be any.

Rember is the author of nine books, including his award-winning memoir Traplines: Coming Home to Sawtooth Valley. He was a professor of writing for many years at The College of Idaho in Caldwell and in the Pacific University MFA program in Forest Grove, Oregon. Learn more at johnrember.com.
