Join us on Wednesday January 15th for a introductory lesson on winter camping with a tent that is capable of housing a mini wood stove. Noakes will teach students how to gather fire wood from trees. How to start and maintain the fire. What to cook, what to eat. How to stay warm at night. What to pack and what to wear.
Dan Noakes is a Donnelly local with over 20 years of backcountry experience. He is known for his videos about backpacking the Idaho Centennial Trail and summiting and skiing all of Idaho’s tallest peaks of 12,000 feet. In the Winter of 22 he soloed a 110 mile winter traverse across the Frank Church and published a documentary on PBS Idaho about his adventures and the history of the land. Dan is a father of two children, a husband, and animator/illustrator by trade.
