Upcycled Tablecloth Shirt Workshop

Date:  June 1st and 8th at 6pm-8pm
Instructor: Alison Sherwood

Stitch new life into vintage linens! Seamstress and textile artist Alison Sherwood will guide students through creating a simple, stylish upcycled tablecloth shirt over two relaxed evening sessions this spring. Using Alison’s multi-size pattern and your choice of linens, you’ll learn basic garment construction, how to repurpose found fabrics, and easy techniques for altering and mending along the way.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own sewing machine, pins, thread, and a linen tablecloth they’d like to transform. Alison will also bring a selection of linens and thrifted tablecloths for inspiration and these will also be available for purchase if needed to help complete your project. This project is beginner-friendly, with minimal sewing required, and a great way to experiment with sustainable fashion.
