The position of Executive Director of the McCall Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau is to represent the organization within the overall community, while managing the office functions for both the Chamber of Commerce and the Visitors Bureau. Additionally, this position oversees the office staff to support the Chamber mission and presence in the region as a viable, reliable, and productive entity.
The Executive Director works with the community and the Board of Executive Directors to form relationships that will expand and provide resources to continue to establish the McCall area as a premier adventure destination and high-quality community to live in. The Executive Director serves throughout the community using strategic partnerships to support sustainable visitation and growth, along with maintaining high-quality living for residents. Additionally, this position oversees membership to expand strategic partnerships and the Chamber mission. This individual must be personable, detail orientated, organized, and possesses the ability to work with many different types of people and lead their staff. Excellent customer service skills required along with a positive and upbeat attitude with willingness to collaborate as a team.
Other key requirements include adaptability, management/supervisory skills, the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects, excellent phone and people skills. The Executive Director should have proficient knowledge of accounting and finance. This position is full-time salaried.
Supervisor:Executive Team (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Past President)
Estimated hours/week: 40 hours, salaried
Preferred schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm. Attendance at all board meeting and Business After Hours events, along with additional event work such as Winter Carnival, Idaho Chamber Alliance, pertinent City and County meetings, administration of the West Central Mountains Leadership Academy, and the Idaho Travel Council Grant Program.

Visitors Bureau 10%
· Oversee all Visitor Bureau Coordination and provide back-up/support/advisement when needed: “Contact Us” submissions and subsequent responses, visitor packets & dissemination of proper information to visitors, compiling and maintaining of up-to-date and accurate information on area recreation options, including the latest maps and pricing information, and keeping updated and complete materials in the office.
· Oversee the development of relationships with local businesses for updated information for our visitors
· Assist with phones/check voicemail/call visitors back when VB Coordinator is unavailable
· Oversee the appearance of a clean and orderly office that is amply stocked with supplies
· Oversee and assist the VB Coordinator with the Events Calendar on website as needed
Membership & Programming 25%
· Recruit new members
· Run ad sales for Visit McCall publication and coordinate for completion of ads
· Assist current membership with any needs
· Seek additional business opportunities and strategic partnership for the MACCVB through networking, development, trainings and more
· Oversee the new member application process
· Oversee the creation of new member profiles on our webpage and internal organization systems
· Assist with keeping updated member profiles for our Visitors Bureau
· Actively engage membership for any important information to help better our services and to strengthen relationships and trust with our membership
· Recruit hosts for and promote Business After Hours Events
· Assist hosts with planning and executing a successful BAH event
· Create and collaborate with the Membership Services Team to provide quality programming for members
· Create and collaborate virtual programming with other regional partners. Maintain relationships with regional partners
· Participate in the Boise State University Community Impact Program
· Create membership & community messaging in collaboration with Marketing & Executive Teams
Events 12.5%
· Plan and execute our Spring and Fall bi-annual Membership Meetings
· Assist with successful execution of Winter Carnival in conjunction with Winter Carnival Contractor and Events Committee
· Work with attorneys and insurance to ensure all documentation and contracts are in place for events
· Set-up, take-down of Chamber events
Board of Executive Directors and Executive Team Assistant 12.5%
· Prepare Board meeting packets with staff that includes minutes, agendas, monthly financials, guests, and any additional information needed
· Oversee minutes taken by staff & submit to City Council for monthly Chamber update
· Plan and execute annual Board of Executive Directors visioning retreat
· Compile and execute any special tasks as directed by the Executive Board
· Manage annual board elections
· Manage MACCVB office and employees
· Draft MACCVB communications as directed by the Executive Board such as letters of support and Chamber statements
Accounting and Financials 20%
· Oversee the general finances of the Chamber
· Draft annual budget in cooperation with the Treasurer and Team Chairs to be approved by the Board of Executive Directors
· Maintain fiduciary responsibility and financial oversight in conjunction with the accountant’s office and the Treasurer
· Manage and submit employee timecards to Treasurer and accountant’s office
· Manage insurance contracts and legal issues
ITC Grant Administration 25%
Administer the State Grant that includes the following:
· Coordinate with co-grantees and vendors for ad approvals, filing of proper documentation, contracts, and reimbursements
· Responsible for remaining current on updates from the Idaho Travel Council & maintaining open lines of communication with State
· Attend required trainings, summits and conferences
· Manage communication of Grant information to necessary parties
· Invoice co-operative advertising & payment of reimbursements to vendors and co-grantees
· Coordinate ITC program audits
· Perform anything else related to the grant administration as needed
Leadership Academy 5%
· Oversee the West Central Mountains Leadership Academy application and selection process
· Assist 2nd year class with planning and executing the leadership program
· Oversee financials for Leadership Program
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years of management experience in a business-related field or other leadership position, including supervision of professional staff and oversight of finances. Previous Chamber management experience a plus. Working knowledge of local, regional and state-level political systems and experience in developing collaborative relationships in these areas. Minimum of 3 years P&L responsibility
DESIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; or comparable professional training and experience attained through military, industry or association service.
